Let go of Regret, and Trust Yourself!

“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”

― Neil Gaiman

This quote always seems to come to mind on the new year. Where life suddenly has such possibility. Rather than looking back with regret, I always take the start of a new year as something rife with excitement.

The only way to shake things up to to try something new, something that feels impossible. Listen to that whisper in your heart and go toward it. January is not a month to sit quietly and contemplate, it is a moment to move, and dream.

There is something that your creative soul has been longing for you to try. But rather than approach it with a demand of greatness, try to think of it as bringing that little kid in you out to play. The one

that loved to draw or dance or write.

It’s more about the experience than the performance. Now is the time. Trust yourself.

Creative bravery is never a mistake.

May 2024 be the year.
